Community Trust

What is the Community Trust?
The Innerleithen Community Trust is a charitable organisation whose purpose is to seek funding for projects that will enhance the economy, environment and/or facilities in the Innerleithen area. Members of the Trust also manage those projects that are successfully funded.
Infrastructure projects overseen by the Community Trust include the purchase of Pirn Wood, the maintenance of woodland walkways and the installation of public benches. Cultural projects include the establishment of a community archive and the publication of a town trail booklet. The Trust also administers the Past Innerleithen website, a vast repository of information on the history of Innerleithen, and runs an occasional series of heritage walks around town.
Who serves on the Community Trust?
The Community Trust is managed by a Committee of Trustees. Trustees apply all funds received, including donations, contributions and bequests, to further the objectives of the Trust.
Any resident of Innerleithen, Traquair and The Glen can become a member of the Trust. To enquire about membership, please contact the Trust Chairman, Ross McGinn, via email.
